Have much searching, I found that the transmission I have is a ZF10M which mates perfectly for the power of the Yanmar 3JH4E: 39hp. The transmission has a gear ratio of 1.48 for forward and 1.86 for reverse.  The RV-10 has a ratio of 1.29. Combining the 2 ratios for forward gear would give me ratio of 1.91 at the prop, if I'm calculating this right. I want to know this because Flex-o-fold wants to know the gear ratio use use in calculating the pitch of the propeller.

Heard from Walter. It is an RV-10. They said to always refer to the serial number as there are about 30 different style rv-10s.

I looking to buy a folding propeller. One of the things I need to know is the gear ratio. And I'm having trouble reading the plate on the v-drive. I think the drive is an RV-10. It looks just like the one in the manual. I've attached a picture of the plate and it looks like the ratio is 1.20/1. Is that the final ratio I have to use for getting the right prop. The original fixed prop is a two bladed 18L X 10, I believe. The engine is a 39hp Yanmar and I have the Yanmar transmission. I looking at a flex-o-fold 2 blade. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I have a loose-footed main on my 367, not full battened, that I bought two years ago, Uses the original slide track in  the mast.  When I had the guy from Hood sails measured it, I asked him how old the the old main was. He said he don't know but they haven't done that type of stitching in 25 years.  Of course anything would have given me better performance, but I do like the shape of the sail without the sliders in the foot. Gone from 3.5 kts in a particular wind to over 5 kts in the same.

I bought a Sailrite LSZ-1 a couple of months ago. With no sewing experience, it was like trying to handle a race car with a learner's permit. Have done a few simple projects like throw cushions and tote bags and feeling more comfortable. I have some work needed on my dodger but going to limit it to a window replacement and resewing some stitching for now.  Sailrite has lots of great videos on a lot of projects. I think doing a dodger is one of the more difficult, but doable. I would start out with some simpler projects, like a wheel cover and work up to more complicated projects. I read somewhere on their site about a guy that built his own dodger but not until he had watched the video about fifty times. I you don't presently have a dodger on your boat, you'll need a frame constructed and make sure it fits and doesn't obstruct anything, like the mainsheet, before attempting any canvas work.  BTW, the LSZ-1 is the one to buy even if you don't use the Z stitch. In the end, it will cost you a lot of money for the machine, canvas, window material,
grommet tools, and more, but if you have the time it will be worth it.

Thanks for posting this link. I see most all of Garner's pages are archived on that site. I really missed those references. Going to copy everything I can find to my local system so I don't lose it again. Is there any way it could all be uploaded to this site?

On my 367 masthead, there are two separate sets of sheaves, one for the main halyard and one for the jib. On the side of the mast that faces forward, below one of the sheaves is a roller attached to the mast with a bracket and six screws.  As it is rigged now, the jib halyard goes through this. Attached is a picture. I want to know if this is the correct configuration.

I had a lightning strike a couple of years ago. Didn't realize it until I found some small pieces of metal on the deck. It was what was left of the antenna. There was no piece more than an inch long. Some of the Datamarine wind instruments were damaged and had to be repaired. The antenna was a Shakespeare. Inside the antenna base, there is a gap between the antenna and the cable connection and there is also a metal bar that connects to the mount and also had a small gap to the antenna whip part of the antenna. I heard that is to direct the current to ground and not down the cable. Seemed to work well and the cable and radio were not damaged. I bought another Shakespeare. Hope it's the last.

The 367 has a removable stay. There is hardware on the deck to clamp it tight and below the deck, in the chain locker, there is a cable the goes from the bottom of the deck to the hull at the bow to take the stress. There is also a boom that attaches to the deck and a traveler. There are also running backstays. My staysail is hanked on.

I thought Dale did that to his 365. There is a section on this site about his boat. I have a 367 cutter. The sailmaker tried to convince me to ditch the staysail and go with a genoa but I stuck with the cutter rig and bought new head sails last year and the main the year before. The previous owner used it as a sloop but I had tennis elbow from cranking that sucker. My choices were to go with the cutter rig or get bigger winches.  I like the flexibility of the cutter rig. The 367's mast is 1.5ft aft of the 365 mast for more room for the staysail. BTW, my old sails may have been the original. Hood said they hadn't done that type of stitching in 25 years. The speed increase, pointing ability, and less heeling are incredible.

I just paid $700 to get my fuel tank cleaned and fuel polished. They removed almost 6 gallons of water and contaminated fuel. Mostly caused by the lousy placement of the fuel filler next to the deck scupper and failure of a $.79 o-ring in the filler cap (I didn't even know it had one.) So I'm posting this so that other people can take a look at theirs.

My primary filter had the same crap. I changed it and one month later had the same clogged filter. I think it's bacteria in the fuel. I'm having the tank cleaned before the boat goes in the water.
